Our School

Mission

It is the mission of Grafton Elementary School to help each child realize his/her potential, to lead a successful and satisfying life, and to make a meaningful contribution to our local and global communities.

Our School

Welcome to the Athens Grafton Joint Contract School, locally known as Grafton Elementary School or GES. We are a public school educating students in grades K-6. We are small but mighty! When we opened the school doors this year, we welcomed 52 students from the municipalities of Athens and Grafton. Breakfast and lunch are served daily to students. Bus transportation is provided in the morning and afternoon for students who require it.

Our Parent Teacher Group (PTG) meets in our school’s library on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:15 PM. All are welcome to attend!

Our School Board meets in our library on the second Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM. These are public meetings and are subject to the Open Meetings Law in Vermont. This means all meetings open to all members of the public. Agendas are warned and made public.

Students receiving instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies from their classroom teachers. Specialists instruct students in physical education, art, library, music, and health.  For students who need the support, we have a school nurse, guidance counselor, mental health clinician, special education and academic interventionists.
