About GES
Mission
It is the mission of Grafton Elementary School to help each child realize his/her potential, to lead a successful and satisfying life, and to make a meaningful contribution to our local and global communities.
Our School
Welcome to the Athens Grafton Joint Contract School, locally known as Grafton Elementary School or GES. We are a public school educating students in grades K-6. We are small but mighty! We welcome students from the municipalities of Athens and Grafton. Breakfast and lunch are served daily to students. Bus transportation is provided in the morning and afternoon for students who need it.
Students receive instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies from their classroom teachers. Specialists instruct students in physical education, art, library, music, and health. For students who need the support, we have a school nurse, guidance counselor, mental health clinician, special educator and academic interventionists.
Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meets monthly. All are welcome to attend!
Our School Board meets in the GES library each month. These are public meetings and are subject to the Open Meetings Law in Vermont. This means all meetings are open to all members of the public. Agendas are warned and made public. Meeting notices are posted to our website.
